Confirmation Preparation 2025-26

In the Sacrament of Confirmation the Holy Spirit is given to us for strengthening. It makes us better able to bear witness to the love of God and the new life in Christ to which he calls all men and women.

Registration for the preparation course for 2025/26 is now open and will close on Sunday 12th October. The form to register and give parental consent can be found here. Participants should be in School Year 10 or above.

It is expected that those preparing for confirmation will be at Mass regularly. This will work best if they are able to come with their parents, who are important examples in their lives.

This year we are planning to work closely with the other Catholic parishes south of Guildford. Confirmation preparation will take place at St Thomas More, Bramley* on Sunday afternoons, usually 3pm - 5pm (unless otherwise specified). The following are the likely dates

  • 12 October 2025 3-5pm (including meeting for parents and candidates at 4.45pm.)

  • 23 November 2025 3-5pm

  • 14 December 2026 3-5pm

  • 11 January 2026 3-5pm

  • 8 February 2026 3-5pm

  • 27 February 2026 - evening at St Joseph’s, Guildford

  • 8 March 2026 - away day at Ladywell 9.30am-5.30pm

  • 19 April 2026 3-5pm

  • 10 May 2026 3-5pm

  • 14 June 2026 3-5pm

This year preparation will include an awayday led by the Youth Ministry team at the Franciscan Centre, Ladywell on 8th March and a meeting with Bishop Richard for Lectio Divina at St Joseph’s, Guildford on 27th February.

The programme will also include a “penance and pizza” or similar session (date and location to be advised).
